The Angel They Killed

They wander around,crying and afraid
Trying to hide from the mistake they made
They hate their mistake
Yet love him so
And refuse to get rid of the Devil that holds them
They hate him so, yet love him more
And refuse to let go, because they see no other
And what they do see, they ignore
Because they only want a Beautiful Lover
But what they don't see
The one thing that could make them happy
The Angel in disguise
The one with the Black Eyes
He smells of death and rotting flesh
And looks so hideous with his burnt flesh
Burnt and scarred from his chaotic life
Such a tragic life,yet still he lives it
No one knows why he won't just die
But no one really cares
They never really cared
Because his disguise is hideous
But his soul...is beautiful
He may have rotten skin
But he is beautiful within
He may look hideous,but he is still an Angel
Pure of heart,beautiful within
Searching for what we all want...perfection
But perfection is just a word
But so many words have caused him pain
Words are just as deadly as a sword
They both have caused excruciating pain
Perfection...it's what we all strive for
When we were closer to perfection before
But they don't know it...the Devil puts them down
So they don't try to do better
They don't go to the Angel
They try to make one out of the Devil
But the Devil leaves when they lose the color in their eyes
Because he knows when the color and shine are gone
They can see the truth. They know what's really going on
They see beyond the Devil's lies
And see right through the Angels disguise
They see what they did with their mind-games and lies
They see that they hurt him,put tears in his eyes
They broke his heart, and destroyed his soul
Made him beautiful no longer, and his compassion turn cold
Now it's too late, the deed is done
He will no longer suffer as the loveless one
Now he is gone. He took his own life
He was sick of always being over-looked
So he slit his own throat with a knife
And now they miss him because he is gone
Now that they see beyond his disguise
They're in love with the Angel
